Here are two young adults who quickly come to know
essential, peaceful truths about each other. There is no political analysis
here; only the clear-eyed vision of youth. And there is something else: a yearning
to be listened to, to be understood, and to be liked.

My name is Daisy. I am 15 years old. I am writing to you because I want to know how it is to be living in the middle of a war. I also want you to know that I am against war. If it were up to me I would of never had a war against Iraq.
Violence doesn't solve anything. I want to ask you if it is okay for me to ask
you personal questions about your life. I hope you will let me and I hope you
will write back soon.
