Two blocks behind the stuck ambulance were two sanitation trucks in the middle of the avenue, where they had been since the early morning.
"You know there's a slowdown, right?" he went on. "Bloomberg fired 400 guys last month and they're doin' this slowdown now. It's a damn shame, is what it is."
Whatever it is [I read 3 articles that told me 400, 200, and 600 workers were fired, and several that said there was a slowdown, and several that said there was not (but I tend to believe Charlie)], it's a damn shame.
