While it is true that Maliki has said that U.S. forces will leave Iraq as scheduled in December. This was in response to suggestions by U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen that U.S. forces might remain longer.
We know Maliki is so weak that he probably cannot remain in office without U.S. support. U.S. pressure to Given a) U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen's suggestion that U.S. forces might remain longer, b) Maliki's reliance on U.S. backing, and c) President Obama's history of bending to U.S. military pressure IT BEHOOVES US TO MOVE AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY IN THE DIRECTION OF THE RULE OF LAW and demand that we stick to the bi-lateral agreement.

End the Occupation of Iraq before the end of 2011
The US-Iraqi security agreement requires all the US troops to leave Iraq by December 31st 2011. It also requires that all US military bases are shut down or handed over to the Iraqi government by the same deadline.
I have started a petition to demand that the US and Iraqi governments abide by the binding deadline stated in the Bi-lateral Security Agreement, and I'll deliver a hard-copy of the petition to the Iraqi and US governments in a few weeks.
Please join me in demanding that all the US troops withdraw from Iraq and all US based to be shut down before the end of this year:
