In a startling revelation a high ranking U.S. Military source revealed today that the Taliban insurgents are being taught "a lesson for what they did in New York City." We're talking about a Colonel here, not a low level grunt. We're talking about someone charged with the responsibility of lives dedicated to following orders; soldiers who trust their superiors to expend their blood wisely.
As we recall it was not the Taliban who attacked us on 9/11.
What hope have we in foreign affairs if our leaders are so ignorant of fundamental facts about international events and relationships? What hope have we as a nation if what bubbles to the top leadership positions is exemplified by this lack of knowledge?
Perhaps it will take an early onset Darwinian episode of authority-bubble-bursting, under the weight of ignorance, to reform ourselves into a more rational nation capable of handling the future in an intelligent, compassionate manner. Inshallah.
