The U.S. Air Force is contributing to #Islamophobia. They published, without any scientific research: a) “the hijab contribute[s] to the idea of passive terrorism” and represents an implicit refusal to “speak against or actively resist terrorism” and b) “young Muslims are motivated to join radical groups because of sexual deprivation.” We must not tolerate the spreading of such misinformation.

At a time when leading political candidates for the Presidency of the United States publicly and boldly speak Islamophobic rhetoric it is vital that our sitting government admit its own failing to root out such attitudes from its published work. It is irresponsible for an arm of the government to disseminate these incorrect inflammatory ideas. A retraction is in order.
