Gaza/Israel: Asymmetric Warfare, Asymmetric Demonstrations

Brooklyn for Peace is an active group with its heart in the right place (left, that is). It sometimes, however pushes in the wrong direction. Calling for a demonstration in front of the Israeli Consulate to 'Protest Israeli Attack on Gaza' misses the point.
The Israeli Consulate, at 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, New York, is only 1.5 miles from The Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the United Nations, at 65th Street.
This is not a one-sided affair, and one-sided protests only hurt the cause of peace. It would have been much better planning to support a march from the Israeli Consulate to the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine. This would acknowledge the facts that both parties are engaging in violent behaviour that can only prolong the agony of so many innocent civilians directly affected by the conflict.
Both sides much stitch together non-violent solutions, and peace organizations much offer more balanced, saner paths to walk toward more peaceful tomorrows.
