Dear
Tania,
I was so happy to get your good
wishes. I am so sorry I missed hearing your voice on the phone. I am taking your
advice about being sad, and yes, you are so very right. Marilyn may be gone in
her body, but she is so much with us in her spirit. Remember the star that we
spoke about? One of the last things Marilyn said was that the special start you
picked will carry our love back and forth, and when Tania sees it she will feel
our love, and when we see it we will feel her love. And it is true. I feel your
love so deeply. I hope you can feel mine.

Years ago, when Irene was a child,
her mom was very active in Spanish/Basque politics. She argued that the Basque
people should have their own country, separate from Spain. There
were others who wanted the same result, but the wanted to be violent to get
their dream. The terrorists put a bomb in their car. Irene and Maria lost legs,
fingers, but not their good hearts!
Instead of wishing death upon their
attackers they moved their lives to letting people know that violence is not the
answer. Irene was only 9 at the time, but she was very wise. She has had many
painful operations to improve her condition. She continues to tell people that
even though they have been changed by violence, they can carry on and be strong.
They can still move this world. I think you can see more than my words just by
studying their smiles.
