It's been a while since anyone in public office has bragged about their role in the utter destruction we unleashed on the innocent people of Iraq. Paul Ryan, Republican candidate for Vice President of the United States, is evidently proud of his part.
""I've been in Congress for a number of years. That's more experience than Barack Obama had when he came into office. I voted to send people to war." [Paul Ryan, August 18, 2012]
His prideful statement tells us something about the man. It indicates his misunderstanding of the basis for the war and the the consequences of using violence as a means to an end.He evidently lacks the intellect to view the past objectively, and therefore learn anything valuable from experience.
Paul Ryan is not a man we want to see with a guiding hand on our foreign policy.
