New Yorkers and #Islamophobia

A Muslim woman wearing a hijab, sitting on the R train, was being verbally-anti-Muslimly abused by someone standing in front of her.  4 or 5 people got up to form a wall facing the seated woman; giving their backs to the bigot. They talked quietly to her, reassuring her, ignored the ranting, and kept it up until the other woman got off the train. Some smiles. No applause. Everybody just got back to their commute. Yo. It’s just New Yorkers being New Yorkers.
